The Kitchen

Welcome to our kitchen! Jeff and I love to cook so having a properly set up kitchen was high on the priority list. We wanted it to be a social area where guests can sit at the island and visit while we cook up a storm. And of course there needed to be a wine fridge, which also poses as the beer fridge. It's not in the pics, but there is an incredible margarita machine hidden in those cupboards (thanks to John and Dana Melsom!) in case you need an incentive to visit.

The island is white honed marble and the perimeter is grey quartz. We've heard and read all the warnings about marble in the kitchen, but it just looks so awesome so we're taking the chance. Note to self, get lots of coasters for those red wine glasses! The kitchen backsplash is 2x4 subway tile which we are so obsessed with. We love subway tile and you'll see it's all over our bathrooms as well. The stove is our new toy! It's a Viking commercial range and it's so much fun to cook with. I also love our white farm sink and couldn't imagine the kitchen without it...it's like icing on the cake.

We also designed the kitchen to have the pantry nearby so you never need to go far to get anything, and included a small desk for our computer. It's so handy to have the computer in the kitchen because that's where we are most of the time. It makes it easy to follow recipes online, or so one of us can be on the computer while the other is cooking and still be in the same area.

11 Weeks - Fig

This was a big week! Baby is now the size of a Fig, and not only did we hear the heartbeat, but got to see the little one! We had an ultrasound and words do not describe what an amazing experience it was. There were tears of joy when its little heart was beating through the machine, and happy sobs during the ultrasound. Baby had hiccups, and the little wiggle worm kept squirming around so I got to see it kicking its leg and move. So cool!

This week we took a quick trip to NYC/Connecticut to be at the wedding of our dear friends Sean and Adrienne, and attend the Christening of our sweet little cousin Eliana Antenucci! We miss our NY Family (Michelle, Chris, Matteo, Olivia and Eliana) so it was great to spend time with them all.
